The official launch of AI-SECRETT took place in Valencia with a three-day kick-off meeting hosted by the Universitat de València. The event marked the first in-person gathering of the consortium and provided an opportunity for partners to meet, share perspectives and establish a common starting point for the work ahead.
Over the course of the meeting, representatives of the 23 partner organisations from 12 European countries came together to present their institutions, introduce their roles within the project and align the first steps of implementation. The sessions helped define priorities for the initial phase of work and reinforced the collaborative dimension of the AI-SECRETT project
, which brings together universities, public institutions, companies, innovation hubs and cultural organisations.
AI-SECRETT is a project co-funded by the European Union under the Digital Europe Programme and aims to strengthen advanced digital skills and foster human-centred innovation through artificial intelligence. In this context, the kick-off meeting was not only an organisational milestone, but also a first space for dialogue around the broader themes that shape the project: creativity, education, digital transformation and social impact.
The first two days of the meeting took place at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Valencia, where partners participated in plenary sessions, project presentations and working meetings focused on coordination, governance, communication and dissemination, and the planning of the first work packages. These sessions were designed to establish a shared roadmap and to ensure that all partners had a clear understanding of the project’s structure and objectives.

The programme also opened space for broader discussions linked to the project’s vision, including communication strategies, European collaboration, and the integration of a gender perspective into the project’s development. These conversations reflected the interdisciplinary nature of AI-SECRETT and the range of perspectives represented within the consortium.
The third day moved to the Biblioteca Valenciana, Sant Miquel dels Reis, where the project was presented in a wider institutional context. The agenda included public-facing sessions and contributions from regional and European representatives, alongside discussions on artificial intelligence, education and good practices. One of the highlighted moments of the day was the launch of the AI STEAM Network, conceived as a space to connect relevant stakeholders and strengthen collaboration around AI and education at the European level.
Throughout the three days, the kick-off meeting combined practical coordination with strategic reflection. It served to organise the first operational steps of the project, while also reinforcing the broader ambition behind AI-SECRETT: to contribute to Europe’s future through advanced digital skills, cross-sector collaboration and a responsible approach to artificial intelligence.
As the project moves forward, the meeting in Valencia remains the point where its first common framework began to take shape — not only in terms of planning and management, but also in the shared understanding of the challenges and opportunities that AI-SECRETT seeks to address.
