For AI-SECRETT, this initiative is especially relevant because it brings together many of the questions that intersect with the project’s wider research agenda. The call covers thematic areas such as intellectual property in digital environments, generative AI and cultural creation, authorship and originality of AI-assisted works, model training on protected content, platform regulation, digitisation of cultural heritage, access to culture in the digital public domain, digital fundamental rights and public policy for digital culture governance.
The Congress is presented as a forum for researchers, academics, cultural sector professionals, policymakers and legal experts to debate the present and future of digital rights in relation to creativity and culture. According to the call, selected papers will be published as chapters in a collective volume by Editorial Atelier, following a blind peer-review process.
Researchers interested in submitting a proposal should send a 300–500 word abstract in Word format (.docx) by 1 April 2026 to derechos.digitales@egeda.com
with the subject line “Propuesta de comunicación – Congreso Derechos Digitales y Cultura”. Abstracts should include the title, author information, institutional affiliation, keywords and thematic line.
The key dates are as follows:
📆1 April 2026 — abstract submission deadline
📆8 May 2026 — notification of acceptance
📆28–29 May 2026 — Congress dates
📆20 June 2026 — full paper submission deadline
➡️September 2026 (approx.) — publication of the collective volume
The call is particularly relevant for researchers working at the intersection of AI, intellectual property, cultural policy, digital rights, education and cultural economics. In this sense, it also resonates strongly with ongoing conversations around technology, creativity and governance that matter to AI-SECRETT and its wider ecosystem.
